I have done it this way. But ensuring I put on the 180 on the angle diagram is just the same and reinforces the visual of what the 180 actually relates to in real life, not the abstract of the bar. We need support their spacial awareness development for other angle questions.

The diagram with the angles on is as visual as it gets. I don't feel you need a bar model to replace another visual model. You just need the 180 degrees on the diagram.

No. The teaching environment for most are fine. We have kids leaving school asking for these 'reasonable adjustments' ar work place saying no, you just need to get on with it. We should not be changing things because attention spans are so low due to tech and social media.

There isn't. But unfortunately some school leaders don't want to have what they perceive as the battle.

Parents. Parents who then say my child needs a time out pass and a fidget toy. A fidget toy that seems to replace the ability to write with a pen.

Leaders of business/countries psychopathy is massively overrepresented. Humans have evolved but we haven't changed on what traits a leader should have and we keep allowing them to be in control.

Expectations. Share them and uphold them. However when they do this schools are then told they can't and without even trying they are given fidget toys and lesson passes. Kids aren't regulating themselves when meeting up with every other kid also out of lesson.

Most secondary have 50/60 min lessons and practical lessons may have double. We need to teach it. Behaviour is a habit. Parents needs to accept just because they struggle to listen and look for 5 mins doesn't automatically make them have a SEND need.

We most definitely have kids that need interventions. But we also have a lack of attention span epidemic. Kids watching TV, playing games and being on their phone at the same time. They need to relearn to just do one thing at a time. Make this the norm again.

It's like Musk falling out with Trump or Tommy R. It's all a show. They are all working together. One trying to aim for the centre right, one for the more extreme. It is a well orchestrated plan.

Exactly. Proper research would account for different variables to measure if it is effective. It is ironic that research on everything from science to healthcare originates in educational establishments, however educational research itself is of such low quality and most not actual research

The specs at GCSE make it intense. I remember pre 2017 GCSEs and having time to make trig graphs from dried spaghetti, taking time to investigate shapes to encourage spacial awareness. Being able to have a conversation with a child about their interests outside school.

0.01 of 15 is a smaller proportion decrease than 0.01 of 4. Take 15/4 x a/b, a is larger than b meaning a/b is an improper fraction, larger than 1, so the value increases.

They don't. But they can be sat for 5 hours so day. We can forget as teachers we are constantly on our feet never sitting still, making minute by minute decisions. Our experience of a lesson is far different to a students.

Since they still struggle with maths questions of paying a deposit and splitting the rest into 12 equal payments or the different in simple and compound interest in y11 I don't think they are going to be able to compare the many different investments vehicles, pensions and mortgages.

Do I think schools should have a body who QAs then to ensure they keep up standards, as a child of secondary schooling in the 80s, yes. Should the QA be supportive, share best practice, help all schools be good and overcome barriers in the context they work in, also yes.

I do the 25 x 20 then show taking off the rectangles of 4 x 25 and 2 x 20. Then show adding back on 2 x 4 as took off twice, hence why -2 x -4 has the effect of +8.
