It took only 2000km to consume 4.5L out of 6L of oil. Check engine light was on. This is definitely a bad sign. At this point, I was sure that the engine has serious issue. I bought 3L of oil at a gas station and drove the car home to inspect the engine more.

The first thing I did after buying the car was check the clearance on the valve lifters. Everything was out of tolerance. At that time, I didn't know what surprise awaited me in the depths of the engine. The hint was 10W40 oil instead of 5W40. I wouldn't make the same mistake today.

I was able to rescue this 286 motherboard from the e-waste along with other treasures. It is in good condition, but the battery has started to leak. This might actually be less of a problem than the lack of SIPP RAM in my collection. We'll see if it runs.
CPU is AMD 286 12MHz, no 287 coprocessor.

It was the end of the Jan 2023, when i bought this Volvo V70. I absolutely love the car. But this started a chain of bad luck with this car so far.
Right on the test drive, the hood went loose and flipped over. The hood and fenders were damaged. That was before i discovered the engine problem.
