Same! It's almost as if experiencing the toxic environment itself, is what gives the push to be creative. When you pull yourself away it's as if the toxicity hands you ammo to express those feelings in novel ways.

I am fortunate to not have been made homeless, but chronic illness / poor health caused the same things for me. It makes us realise when we are down and struggling, that few will stop to care about the individual unless money & personal gain are involved... People can be very cold and spiteful.
