Yeah, they can't unfuck that couch. What's more, the Streisand effect is in full force.

Too many of their names in the Epstein files

Feels intentional. The other publications get bought up and gutted by people who don't like being investigated, and The Times can keep theirs so long as they can play bad guy sometimes while never running anything too disruptive.

Regular reminder: if you do not support trans rights, please promptly enter a mercury drinking contest and then go for a swim.

Buzzfeed was trying to force Kyra and her team to use AI for a Chikn Nuggit project. She left in protest because she's an actual hero. The fallout for Buzzfeed has been...real bad, so naturally, they're suddenly open to discussion. Keep being loud about how Ai is NOT acceptable.

If you breach copyright to make publicly funded research publicly available they'll come at you with everything. If you turn theft into a business model investors can profit from, they'll change the law for you.

A lot of people also forget about what Clinton did to the poor and to the Midwest. The 90s were not a time of improving economic outcomes for manufacturing communities. And the austerity measures of Third Way politics added insult to injury.

Libertarian used to be the word used to describe Anarchists. If he doesn't have any explicitly pro-capitalist views, he might lean the other way. Distrust of the government does not necessarily mean conservative or right leaning.

Labour mostly seems to be intent on destroying itself by alienating their base and taking notes from Farange and BoJo to do it.

This is actually on the bingo card, unfortunately

Just checking here, but isn't this the guy who had a TotenkΓΆpfe tattooed onto his chest? Regularly engaging with, platforming, and agreeing with white supremacists?

If the race is between two nazis, you don't count votes. You count brass.

Dispatches from MN: it's getting really hard, guys. The media has left, the donations are drying up, and ICE is still here kidnapping people. It's hard not to be resentful that other people have the option of setting this aside for.other things.

I try to quickly list the first tier steps in order so the checklist gets completed quickly and they can send me to the next rep while hopefully keeping their numbers good.

It isn't going to be fixed with more good data. It'll just possibly be more convincing. LLMs are just weighted markov chains. The least optimized predictive text software known to man.

Well, if he starts now and consistently shows it, there's years to show proof. But he won't, he's part of the "double down and never admit wrongdoing" school that the dems keep swinging (and missing) with

Do you know how long the wait lists have been for getting approval to immigrate from central and south america to the US? Sometimes decades. Under dems and republicans.
There effectively is no "legal" route for them, and pretending like there is just accepts institutional racism.

It wouldn't put the senior executive in the group, no. What would give you that idea?

Poverty is also relative. Even when things are going a little bit better month by month, year by year; when you see your bosses raking in record profits and income inequality keeps growing, you're not going to view small gains nearly as favorably.

It certainly could have dampened enthusiasm or trust in the dems and caused people to not bother voting at all.

But what is their relationship with the means of production? Do they have to work to get paid or can they reap the benefits without lifting a finger?

Education and certification requirements don't really matter in this calculus.

Amazing how the name of the game has been defunding services from the republicans and austerity measures from the democrats since the 80s. We're almost out of bread and the circus has been Washington DC the whole time, I don't know how they expect to keep this up.

ADHD shit, I don't even notice when I get paid for some of my freelance work unless someone contacts me to let me know. There's either money in my account or there isn't and I generally just assume there isn't.

And of course blue state libs were quick to point the blame on my state, but south carolina was never going to do anything different. That congress made it an option at all was carving out permission.

I remember when the ACA went into effect and not only did my health insurance go up, the cheapest plan on the marketplace was more than I made. My state refused medicare expansion. Which we knew was going to happen and warned about. The solution? No penalty tax. But I lost my insurance.

If it's real, I'd love to know what languages the books on the shelves are written in.

Not impossible to build, but you'd have trouble keeping it from cracking as the wood breathes.
