Thank you! Two largely misunderstood conditions (FND and long Covid) for the price of one - yay me! :(

Covid infection worsened my pre-existing FND.

I've been diagnosed with functional dystonia by multiple neurologists and neuropsychiatrists through 14 years. I don't find myself in this explanation at all. My symptoms aren't typical and I'm fully aware of my involuntary movements.

Me: FND 14 years and Long Covid 5 years. OT for LC said she doesn't believe in FND and that they just haven't found a physical cause yet. MD treating LC patients said FND is a code word for crazy. At LC support group meetings people bristle when I say I got FND, so now I say I got dystonia.

I suppose we shouldn't expect the FND professionals to speak up about these things. Unfortunately, it's down to us, the patients.
