Carrie cleaned up the Boysenberry Canes, so I refreshed the bed and planted more...
Makah Ozette Fingerling Potatoes ππΏπ
Yes, I may have over ordered a bit. They're tasty though if you're a fan of pine nuts or buttery chestnuts in a fingerling potato form!

There are a lot of stories, how to, tall tails and other lore, legend and myth about the Oca Tubers.
Very late season harvest. It's easy to miss tubers when harvesting.
They only start bulbing out when days get back to less than 9 hours of sunlight.

Age is a problem too I believe. At 25 to 45, I wouldn't hesitate to leg it out after getting vehicle stranded. Now though, coming up on 62, I am not going to far with a 40 lb. pack. Mentioned it before when you said systems, that is why.

Foreground planters are Hazlenut Bushes. To the left is our crop of Elephant Garlic. To the right are the Plum Perfect Floribunda Roses.
We had another purpose for these 3'x3'x1' raised beds, but that fell through so a silver lining and all.
Work nights, can't get as much done at the Cassiopeia Garden and Urban Orchard.
New raised bed, with one more to go there. Planted with Makah Ozette seed potatoes. They're a late season fingerling of exceptional taste.
Seriously if I had the room and time to learn these would be vodka! πππΏ

When the screaming stops, it might be to late to bugout. Words of wit, build your tribe and team and bug in as long as possible. No one survives alone, but too many is a drain on resources.

As of today, we've done ten 20 and 25 gallon grow bags of potatoes from last year. Twenty nine more of new potatoes. Make sure to space your planting out timeline wise or have spuds from early (60 to 80 days), mid (80 to 100) or late (greater than 100 days). Waiting for pics from you all Ebony!

Blue Shelling and Spring Blush Peas planted today. About 30 each along the trellis section. They get pretty tall, 5 to 7 feet. A sturdy trellis is suggested.
New Potato Bag Row added today. 6 new 20 gallon bags with Katahdin (x2) and Canada Gold (x4) Potatoes planted.
Each 3 foot stake got 3 more of the Early Frosty variety of Peas. They grow rather short and top out at about 2.5 feet.
A busy weekend at the little urban Cassiopeia Garden & Orchard. Added a new potato bag row. Finished planting the remainder of the peas.
More to come as Spring has sprung here in Maryland Zone 7! Top of the Chesapeake Bay and anus of the Susquehanna River.
See ALT for descriptions.

Brand new to the little urban Cassiopeia Gardens & Orchard.
Bred by the good folks at Michigan State University, Dr. Douches & team have released the BlackBerry Potato. Loaded with antioxidants it promises to be excellent for homemade chips.
