If anyone is interested, I started a blog. Mostly because when I went to write an article for The School Librarian I found I had a lot more to say than the 1125 word count would allow! #SchoolLibrarian #Librarian

The fact the writer would have got paid for something that they didn't write is just maddening.

If you can't tell, I'm angry and just want this assignment to be over but instead I'm ranting about this author to anyone and everyone because apparently you can't curse or say the author is an archaic moron in academia (which I think should be changed to reflect the modern times π€£)
How articles like the one I'm analysing get published in a relatively renowned journal is beyond me. If I can't get above a 70 on an essay with 20+ refs from the last 5 yrs, how is this peer-reviewed and published with only references from pre-2008 other than a self-ref from their previous article
All being said, without ADHD meds, I would be procrastinating and crying while doing this critical analysis of an article from 2021 but instead I'm just procrastinating and angry. Don't think I'll ever enjoy doing a critical analysis from an academic pov.
I will graduate this year from a part time degree I started back in Jan '18. There's been many points on this degree where I've wanted to give up/change course etc. and the majority of that was before #ADHD meds that I started in Jan '24.
Graphic with a deep purple ombre background. White title text says, βCelebrate We Need Diverse Books Day with Bookshop.orgβ. Beneath the title is a row of white perforated tickets, the centermost which says, β15% Off using the code WNDB25β in dark purple lettering. Beneath the ticket in small white font is a note with an asterisk that says, βonly active Thursday, April 3rdβ and βexcludes e-book purchasesβ.
Itβs no joke, our friends at @bookshop.org are helping us celebrate #WeNeedDiverseBooksDay with a special promo code! ποΈπ

Today is a good day to divest from Amazon and instead support small businesses.*
By using Libro.fm instead of Audible, your audiobook purchases support independent bookshops π

Sent out an email to an author to see if they can visit my school during the next #WorldBookDay week (March 2026!) because I'm super excited to plan the next #LiteraryFestival!! This time I'll be writing the script for the play myself! #KidLit #SchoolLibrarian

If the World Book Day costume youβre planningβ¨to make or buy for your child costs more than the price of a book,β¨buy them aβ¨BOOK instead. (Itβs not World Costume Day)
I'm not the first to give this advice, but it bears repeating for the benefit of any parents/guardians planning to make or buy a costume for tomorrow.
If the #WorldBookDay costume youβre planning β¨to make or buy for your child costs more than theβ¨ price of a book, β¨buy them a BOOK instead.

Trying to finish The Boy I Love by @whusseyauthor.bsky.social on my commute home today has been a bad choice! Had to stop reading so I didn't become that crying person in the bus station... The student that's borrowing this next is going to be a mess and he's looking forward to it π€£ #BookSky #KidLit

Update: Mama is called Violet (after Violent Bridgerton), tabby baby is Minerva (after Minerva McGonagall) and the black and white baby is called Mike Wazowski
She's currently living in the spare room at my boyfriends house, where 5 of the 8 foster fails live. The other 3 foster fails have stayed at my parents house π€£
I used to foster when I was doing TNR years ago which is how I ended up with 8 cats π€£ hence why I'm not keeping her or babies
This was completely accidental! I went to the chippy 3 weeks ago and saw her eating scraps and gravel and the staff said they'd seen her around for weeks, so I took her to the vets who said she wasn't chipped and that she's basically mine now π
They have gorgeous colours π» mama and the stripey baby will be going to my cousin, with the black and white baby going to her neighbour and friend so they're all pretty much staying together π but that's all happening in May so I get to have cute kitten cuddles until then!
She's done so well! The vets estimated the mama to be around 5.5 months when we rescued her 3 weeks ago so she's doing amazing for a 6 month old mama π

In completely random but happy news, the cat I've been fostering since rescuing her 3 weeks ago had her kittens last night! She's being a beautiful mama and has 2 very healthy baby kittens π #Cats
Got to the end of The Deadsoul Project yesterday and was thinking "I can't wait for the next one" and was about to Google it but then turned the page π€©
Pre-ordered it and excited for September π½
Not exactly accurate but hilarious nonetheless πΉ
