One thing is for certain, for better or worse: everyone alive right now will be leaving a very different world than they were born into, and that is not true of most of human history.
More freedom for Russia from sanctions; more revenue for Russia to slaughter Ukraine.
Whatever Trump/Russia/Epstein is, and whatever Trump/Kushner/Witkoff side deals exist, this is a disgrace.

These things always have delays and cost overruns.
We were founded in 2020 to fill a space that was missing in the media: covering the threats facing democracy.
Six years later, those threats have only worsened, while our work has become more critical.
We are Democracy Docket. Fearlessly independent, unapologetically pro-democracy.
It's genuinely terrifying that my country is at war and I can't tell the difference between a press conference by the Secretary of Defense and a pro wrestler hyping an upcoming match.
This is not hyperbole. Hegseth is emotionally incapable and intellectually void and that is an important job.
"The sooner David Ellison takes over that network, the better."
The Defense Secretary calling for a billionaire ally of the government to take over a media outlet & make it more pro-government. This is what authoritarianism looks like. But in other countries they try & hide it.
He's right. There is no history of air power alone defeating a nation. For regime change, or even to dismantle their nuclear assets, we're going to have to put boots on the ground against a nation of 90 million people.
It's tens of thousands of dead Americans or this war is shit.
This war is shit.
Masked law enforcement officials misused a warrant to launch a militarized raid at a family-oriented event in Wilder, Idaho.
We're suing state and federal law enforcement with @acluidaho.bsky.social on behalf of families who were traumatized by this illegal raid.
When EPA employees sought advice from agency ethics officials before signing the βDeclaration of Dissentβ, they were told it raised no ethics or Hatch Act concerns, according to E&E News.

Screencapture images of CBC and NYT using a file photo of a body of water that vaguely resembles the left-to-right shape of the Strait of Hormuz, but which is visibly not nearly to scale. This is clearly a river or estuary system (complete with visible floodplains) and not the Strait. It is missing several cities that would be clearly visible at this scale. The photo was also taken from high altitude but clearly not from outer space, making the angle of capture impossible to fit Hormuz into the same frame.
So, I've seen this image come up twice now in news coverage of the Strait of Hormuz.
First it was The New York Times' "The Daily" podcast.
Next, CBC News' generally excellent "About That" webseries.
Folks, this is not the Strait of Hormuz.
Weβre so fucked. They may be losing but we are NOT winning.
Heβs a white supremacist and so are the majority of Republicans in Congress.
Republican economic theory: profits trickle down to you very slowly & in extremely small quantities. Expenses flood you and well never move so you drown.
Good luck!

IDF soldiers anally raped the Palestinian man with a knife and were caught on camera. They also severely beat him. The victim required surgery for a perforated rectum.
The IDF is now dropping charges because of the outcry from the Israeli public IN SUPPORT OF THE RAPISTS.

Professors will recognize this kid as the student who didn't do the reading but still has very strong opinions about how it's all "bullshit," except this time he's not the callow student who's going to fail your course, he's the reviewer who's going to cancel your grant.

IT'S NOT A TEST OF SAFETY REGULATIONS IT'S A TEST OF A "SELF-DRIVING" SYSTEM THAT STILL DOESN'T WORK AFTER A DECADE OF BLOWN DEADLINES
More gutter racism and Islamaphobia.
Well, we also had a nonfunctional President, who dropped out and was replaced without a primary. Kamala has admitted they should have done more on Gaza.
Do these little posts make people feel morally superior about a kinder, gentler genocide? What is the point? It certainly is not voter outreach.
They were crushed, editorial board. They were put down sometimes violently by police. Where were you when that happened
They arrested those students. Most of them were expelled. What the fuck are you talking about?
Also, there are literally dozens of campus protests going on right now.
More than 350 high schools have had student walk outs over the last 2 weeks.
These things are just not being picked up by major broadcast media.
