This week our team at NYC HPD welcomed the newest NYCHVS field interviewers for training. The New York City Housing & Vacancy Survey informs key housing policy with citywide data on homes, affordability, & neighborhoods.

60 years ago, NYC began collecting detailed data from residents to guide housing policy.

Now with the 20th survey cycle on the way, the NYCHVS continues to ensure decisions are grounded in real New Yorkers’ experiences. Here’s to 60 years and counting of data that drives change.

The SurvNYC Program offers paid internships where students gain experience in community-centered data while shaping housing policy.
