Texas AG Paxton Declares Therapists Affirming Trans Youth To Be Illegal And Child Abuse
The declaration echoes his 2022 efforts to target parents of trans youth with child abuse, and may force conversion therapy on trans youth in the state.
1. This morning, Texas AG Ken Paxton just released a chilling new declaration:
Mental health therapists, counselors, and psychologists must cease affirming trans youth - using their name and pronouns - or potentially face child abuse charges and loss of licensure.
Its a horrifying escalation.

Weβre not in the clear. Itβs still important to be cautious, careful, and vigilant. ICE vehicles were spotted across Minneapolis today.
Two Latino neighbors were kidnapped by ICE on East Lake Street outside a laundromat. 1/

One of the nuts things about organizing in the Twin
Cities right now is that even the most long term
organizers who've been here for decades can't keep
track of all the resistance that is going on. There are
so many self-organized crews just doing work that in
any conversation with someone from another
neighborhood you might stumble over a whole
collective of people resisting in ways you didn't think
of. There's a crew of carpenters just going around
fixing kicked-in doors. There are tow truck drivers
taking cars of detained people away for free. People
delivering food to families in hiding. So many local
rapid response groups that the number is uncertain
but somewhere between 80 and the low hundreds-
especially when one considers that several
immigrant communities have their own non-English
rapid response networks usually uncounted in the
main English-language directories. People standing
watch outside daycares and schools.
This whole resistance has so many poles of initiative
and leadership, so many layers of self-organization,
that it's extraordinarily difficult for the state to
repress or for opportunists be they Democrats or
movement-riding parties) to co-opt and control. Of
course, that's built up through many years and
decades of organization, and not only through
explicitiv political campaigns or formations built
during times of crisis and rupture like 2020. It is also
built through day-to-day mutual aid, culture building,
workplace and tenant organizing, and simple, basic
relationship building among neighbors and
coworkers here.

I don't like to talk about stories before they are fully reported, but I am writing on ICE in a Minnesota town that isn't Minneapolis. However bad you think it is, it is worse. It is a campaign of pure terror whose only strategic goal is more terror. There is no strategy other than to break people.

Screenshot of the email from Tina Smith's office. It reads:
Dear [name redacted],
Thank you for contacting me regarding Medicare. I appreciate hearing from you on this issue.
I believe that seniors should be able to remain independent in their communities and get the health care they need without risking financial ruin. Nationwide, 68 million seniors get health care through Medicare, and I am committed to ensuring that these individuals can count on quality, reliable health care. Additionally, more than half of Medicare enrollees in Minnesota choose to get their health care coverage through a Medicare Advantage plan, so it's important to me to make sure this program is meeting its promise to the seniors who rely on it for their care. Minnesotans and people across the country who rely on Medicare Advantage for their health coverage deserve high-quality, stable coverage that is fiscally responsible for both the patient and taxpayers.
I am so concerned with President Trump's ongoing threats to Medicare and Medicaid and efforts to cut millions of Americans' [screenshot cuts off here]
I rec calling, not messaging. I wrote a very personal letter and got irrelevant replies from both MN's Klobuchar and Smith. Smith's reply also deadnamed me (I used my initials in the submission form). I'm a trans person, on SSDI and Medicare. There was no option for LGBTQ+ rights as a topic.

Shutdown Day Guide For LGBTQ+ People: "Continuing Resolutions" And New Anti-Trans Posts From The White House
Shutdown day is here, and there has been a lot of competing coverage on Republican priorities, Democrat's demands, and what shutdown politics means for LGBTQ+ people in America.
1. It's shutdown day, and anti-trans provisions are on the line... either today, or in a few more weeks if a clean continuing resolution passes.
Trump posted a video this morning blaming a shutdown on trans people and immigrants.
Here is your shutdown guide.

Today, the Trump administration is releasing a fake "report" about gender affirming care created by quacks so they can restrict access to care. It's going to be completely unscientific and unhinged and shouldn't be a afforded one iota of credibility.

A black dog sits with his head resting on part of a couch. His eyes are wide, mouth slightly parted. He has never wanted a hotdog more in his life. However, he will not move. He knows he cannot have the hotdog. He lays sunken and forlorn. His eyes are wide with desire, but there is also a profound sadness. In silence he waits with a hunger that will never be sated.

Itβs so important that this story is being told - a truly terrible thing happened to Becky and people need to know. Itβs also important to emphasise that every person who ended up at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea, or crossing the Darien Gap, or in a detention centre is somebodyβs Becky.

Susan Crawford wins the Wisconsin Supreme Court election, according to many election analysts.
This after Elon Musk and others poured millions into anti-transgender advertisements in the state.
The anti-trans panic failed in Wisconsin.
This is a major victory for LGBTQ+ people in the state.
