Don’t listen to her. We need to know the goss.
In California they are finding out which hotels ICE agents are staying at and honking their horns outside all night.
They're having tow truck drivers follow their vehicles and tow them the second they park illegally.
And one mayor told the gangs to go ahead and protect their communities.
Grief like a frightened bird trapped in my house, hurling itself against the windows.
Every single breath a projection of their own cowardice venality and sloth
We're excited to announce that we'll be hosting Prof Naiomi Metallic as this year's McDonald lecturer and will be co-hosting with the U of A's Indigenous Law Students Association. To learn more about this year's lecture and to register, go here: www.constitutionalstudies.ca/events/35th-...
I want to share this story again because I think stories are incredibly powerful. In it, @rjjago.bsky.social notes that Canadian nationalism could very well push some Indigenous Nations into the arms of Trump.

I have some ideas. In Edmonton this week if you prefer to chat over karaoke. :)
Drop me an email?
If anyone has any leads on funding for creating a free, online Indigenous language course lemme know. Just the money, I got the rest.
The Holocaust was legal. We had a law prof teach a whole course on this. Ppl who conflate what is lawful with what is right are easy to manipulate and control.
This is my top recommended book for those who refuse to descend into hopelessness.
Edmonton peeps, please share! I'll be doing my very favourite presentation on Indigenous Futurisms on Tuesday, Jan. 28 and it's free! It's also my goodbye to the University of Alberta. www.su.ualberta.ca/about-uasu/u....

Someone called this mass exodus from Twitter ‘the fall of the Broman Empire’ and I died laughing. 💀
Memo to self: carry back up tuna sandwich for such occasions.
I’m sad. That’s all.
Sending love and reminders to love the people in the spring of their lives. Some only know pandemiclove, others are coping with having felt something close to them. I am working to be as welcoming and open to the understanding of family as I can be.
The Lazy Guy abides.
My short animation will be at ImagineNative on October 22 ❤️🪶
The last chapter of the book that George Littlechild and I are doing is called, "The most beautiful way". I had to be fully loved + loving to be able to write this. Thank you to the jerks who ignored me + the non-jerks who loved me because I couldn't write it without that space.
A new database of testimonies by survivors of the Roma and Sinti genocide during World War II. Between 250,000 and 500,000 Roma & Sinti were murdered by the Nazis in the 30s and 40s. [romatestimonies.com]
I love my family and friends. So much. This seems like a place you can put this.
Hey! I'm screening in this program at BFI London Film Festival this fall! Maybe I will see you there?
Just here for peoples and stories. Both, good ones.
Today, someone requested a first meeting / phone meeting. What I realized: it is less intrusive and exhausting to meet by phone than in Zoom. I am going to offer this to Learners who don't want to Zoom or be in an office in their downtime. And: will attempt to swing some of the ugmeetings to phone.
If there is a zoom link (for administrative meetings, not gatherings, classes or visits) I will zoom it rather than attend. Exception: sandwiches.
I do. Do you have a lovely one who can do first read through to prepare you for "read it". "ignore it". "eff it". organization?
This is the most thunder I have heard since moving to the coast. Hoping it is dousing the fires.
I am librarying hard this year.
