Oh Laura I'm so glad to hear this, and really thrilled you enjoyed it. Ha, yes, the final third in particular is quite the plot ride! Thank you for letting me know
@rosannaforte
Editorial Director @ Little, Brown UK. Commissioner of beautiful books with big plots. Generalist but particularly partial to the historical, the criminal, the ghostly and the lightly fantastical. Exclusively π on this account.

This is an entry level role so no publishing experience necessary, though you may have some! apply-here.hachette.co.uk/jobs/vacancy.... You can find out more here and also DM me.
#jobsinpublishing alert! We're looking for an editorial assistant to work across fiction and non-fiction. You'll be reporting to me and Tig Wallace but working with all the amazing editors at Sphere - I may be biased but I think we're the nicest team in the business, and our books are *chef's kiss*
You are of course very welcome to one Eve. Do you want to DM me address?
Publishers, agents, booksellers. I have the most beautiful #proofs of a gorgeous historical novel coming in February. Quite a few people have said some very nice things. If you would like one please let me know.
Started my new #buddyread with @bookbint.bsky.social and loving it so far!
Thank you @rosannaforte.bsky.social for sending us proofs!
A little plea from a publisher: please don't sell uncorrected proofs on for a profit. They are circulated for review with trust. Though it might not feel like a big deal, it's actually piracy because the author gets nothing for the sale.
Oh Laura I'm so pleased to hear that. It's such a gorgeous read isn't it? I'm excited to hear how you get on, particularly when you get to the final third. It gets so tense at that point I couldn't put it down!
Also horray for Joanne Burn, whose The Bone Hunters is one of just three historical novels selected by the Daily Mail for their books of the year. I get to work with such talented authors!

Delighted to see #TheWomanintheWallpaper selected as Netgalley's Book of the Month for February. They called it "a vivid, consuming and utterly enthralling novel of secrets, politics and mystery". Available to request now
More techo bro disrupters, that's what the world needs! It sounds worrying, but I doubt many people will want to pay Β£5K to have a robot publish their book. I don't think they understand that most writers need/want a human connection with their work.
You are amazing, thank you! π
Thank you for the introduction, my friend!
The Winter Spirits is a Blackwellβs book of the month and it is looking VERY SHINY. Iβm so happy to have a story in this collection. I did not sail to a deserted island in the fog and risk being eaten by wild sheep for nought!
Thank you David. And on a separate note, that is a fabulous jumper.
