A type of skeleton shrimp. (Caprella penantis ?) It has slender, segmented body with orange-red markings. The first segment is head and the rest segments are thorax. The last thorax segment is followed by abdominal segment that is very small and almost inviisible. The head has 2 pairs of prominent antennae, small eyes, and a pair of smaller grasping appendages resembling a mantis' foreleg. Actually, the head is fused to the first thorax segment, so the next part with the bigger grasping appendages is the second thorax segment. Each of the third and fourth segments have a pair of paddle-shaped appendages. They are gills. The fifth to seventh segments have flexible appendages with claw-shaped tips. They help to cling to seaweed. In Japan, January 2017.
