Agreed. When I was doing the podcast for Princess and the Frog, I was a little surprised at how many white men were in charge of every single part of it.
In my Westcot shirt and pink Chucks, blasting Bruce and as usual trying to keep the horrors away by stuffing my anxiety into my muscles. This is super healthy. You can’t start a fire without a spark.

I’ve been wondering that too. You could argue that’s true with Turning Red too, at least eventually.
PATF, Brother Bear, the Emperor’s New Groove, Soul, Turning Red. I don’t know if we’re seeing it more now because there are more diverse characters or if this is still something that’s specific to POC characters.
I did a podcast about The Princess and the Frog on this season of my show, and I came across the concept of “beastilization”: POC characters turning into a non-human for a good portion of the film. It happens with a significant number of Disney and Pixar films, including Hoppers.
