But people are gonna love it anyways cuz "look it's thing you know but in movie" Again, that's fine when we're talking about regular generic ass Mario, but galaxy deserves so much better. Instead it feels like this one is just doubling down on all the first movie's faults.

I can't help but be cynical about the new Mario movie. Shoving a shitload of references in our faces was fine for the first, esp since it was vanilla Mario, but THIS IS GALAXY! All the callbacks to it feel completely surface level and it doesn't even attempt to replicate the actual feel of the game.

This isn't anything new tho. For some reason despite being old ass Gameboy games, they love to treat classic pokemon as these elusive games that are too special to be released normally. I remember it took them forever to get gen 1 and 2 games on the 3DS and they charged a premium for those as well.

I have no idea how I feel tbh. On the one hand it's nice to have a retro title not tied down to NSO that I can buy and play without a yearly subscription But yeah $20 is still WAAAAY too much for a GBA game, and it feels like they only released it separately so they could charge more for it.

I'm still not convinced that tweet wasn't a shit post. Let's be real, Toby would fuck with his fans like this, esp after the whole "friend inside me" debacle.

I wanted to like this demo so badly but I found the controls way too unwieldy (mainly the wallrun, it's way too inconsistent from my experience) and the level design far too punishing and hellbent on setting back your progress over one minor mistake.
