After judge rules on Gateway tunnel money, two key issues remain
One of the counts Gateway filed against the feds not addressed at Thursday's hearing involve project funding being improperly suspended.
Come for the story about the bizarre world of contract law in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and how it applies to the $16B Gateway tunnel program.

The moment Gov. Sherrill said this:
βIn the final working days of the last administration, New Jerseyans were stuck with $3B in extra spending, $2.5 in corporate tax breaks and $240 million in giveaways. That canβt keep happening β¦ itβs not what the people of NJ deserve.β

It does kind of seem like it could be a video game -- there's construction, software and signal testing and then physical train testing, weather events, active trains operating, and now additional Amtrak work that could cause disruptions.

Did Murphy make things better, worse for NJ residents without cars?
NJ Transit got some secure revenue sources, but fees go up while riders want more reliability. And a new e-bike law makes that option less appealing.
Gov. Murphy made a lot of impact on transportation policy during his terms.
But people without cars who rely on NJ Transit and e-bikes will face some of the harshest impacts from those policies.
Will Gov. Sherrill add transportation to her affordability agenda?
