I've taught many people new to gamedev from kids to adult, from a practical educator lens I believe the main difference people credit to kids learning faster or easier than adults is they aren't yet consciously trying to avoid temporarily looking like a beginner at something

The way conservatives freak out about sex ed and also about teens not having sex isn’t logically inconsistent for them. They want young women and girls to have kids as soon as possible, in the hope they’ll be confined to domestic life and servitude before developing that pesky “adult independence”
