It has been a highly inspiring joint meeting between @jgi.doe.gov and EMSL focussing on “Empowering Automated Laboratories: Integrating Experimentation with Data”. A fantastic line-up of keynote and speakers, scientifically-rich Q&A parts, and very well organised meeting.

Dernier jour de chasse. Plus que quelques heures sans s'empêcher d'aller dehors, à calmer la chienne parce qu'elle claque des dents et tremble si fort, à voir des 4x4 rouler trop vite et tirer des remorques remplies de chiens qui hurlent à la mort. Et la faune sauvage qui en pâtit, se cache, a peur.

A timetree of Fungi dated with fossils and horizontal gene transfers - Nature Ecology & Evolution Combining fossil-based and molecular calibrations with data on horizontal gene transfer events, the authors develop a time-calibrated phylogeny of Fungi. This timescale, which integrates analytic uncertainties, suggests an older age of crown Fungi (1,401–896 million years ago), as well as a minimum age for ancient interactions involving fungi and the algal ancestors of embryophytes in terrestrial ecosystems (1,253–797 Ma).
