Is Doom Imminent?

One of the things that twenty years in the US Army taught me is that a good Officer or NCO always projects confidence, even if they are confidently wrong.

This starts at teaching E-4s, usually at their first board, to answer with confidence, even if they think they might be wrong.

It’s unique because the cliches cross language barriers—either they immediately recognize each other instantly as one of their own, or the one with more intellectual depth than the shallow end of the pool, rolls their eyes and thinks to themself, “Great, another one of ‘these’ guys.”

“Cliche exclusivity” is the speech pattern of douche, alpha-male bros everywhere.

Weird Combat Metrics didn’t win our wars in Vietnam, Afghanistan, or Iraq—why would they win this war?

In fact, trying to logically, and cohesively, explain MAGA ideology almost sounds like a conspiracy theory all its own. Those poor, undereducated, mis/dis-informed people.

… after-all, they’ve been force-fed, via their vast right-wing media ecosystem echo-chamber, that they’re simply good, common-sense people that have been the victims of vast left-wing conspiracies of every type. 🙄

MAGA hates whoever they are instructed to hate.

I deeply dislike Trump, MAGA, GOP, and everything else “conservative”, but the pedophile problem is a direct result of money using the power it grants them in late stage capitalism.

I, foolishly, hope one day everyone involved will be exposed and face justice accordingly.

Honestly, I think the most likely scenario at this point is that Trump declares victory, moves on to some other country (Cuba), and right around election time “something” happens in Iran and we go through this whole thing again.

We, sure enough, about to find out.

Is it at all possible that if Trump tries to put price controls on oil that my local station just stops selling it because they can’t make a profit?

If Trump’s response to the economic collapse taking place across the world tonight and into tomorrow is to try and put boots on the ground in Iran then we’ll find out just how fucked we all are and that this war will be quite protracted in length.

… what if tanking world economies does make Trump backdown in Iran, and they’re still like: “Fuck your oil and the Strait of Hormuz!” They win by simply holding oil, not people, hostage for as long as possible.

Sometimes I feel the most powerful men in Pittsburgh don’t have Duquesne Club membership, but are, instead and in fact, the heroes that go by the title “Zone Supervisor” for Pittsburgh police.

I feel that enough young kids have enough problems of a variety of types that a draft would dissolve into the targeting of a very small number of those that qualify.

Nothing’s wrong implausible or impossible when your approval ratings can’t get any lower.
