Reactionary news sells and sells well. Reality is often complicated and frustrating but valid rationale exists for most major decisions. It's much easier to scream an outraged headline than to engage with reality.

I agree with it in principle but not in practise. Streeting has raised a very important point and we've already seen from Canada how coercive and corrosive this can be. We need to err on the side of caution here.

I find it fascinating that the normal functions/arrangements of the government are being treated as radical/revolutionary because its Labour doing it now.

Maybe its the clarity of their campaign message? Harris' became perceived as a little indistinct and focussed on save democracy rather than being perceived as material conditions.
