today is a day I get to teach coinage and that is ALWAYS a good day! One of today's discussion points below: a decadrachm of Syracuse signed by Kimon circa 405-400, AR 36 mm, 43.34 g, with a charioteer being crowned by Nike on one side and the nymph Arethusa surrounded by dolphins on the other..

The biannual BSA course in Greek numismatics was held in March 2025. Students learnt about all aspects of ancient Greek coinage, enjoying the use of the coin collection of the BSA, as well as the coin collections housed in ASCSA, the Agora, the Numismatic Museum and the Bank of Greece.
