Having just blocked a reply guy, I can only add that the US is on the path and we need to step off. It's not a matter of carelessness or intention with no will behind it. We've been on the path for decades.

He'd have done better to back a conservative Democrat; such people are fairly popular in Oregon.

But they are clearly on the way, and that's how I took the remark. There's also a lot more intention in the steps to genocide then there is in being a careless driver.

Aren't we about at step 6 in those stages?

yeah and IMO PEPFAR also makes plain the scale of positive difference we could make if the gargantuan resources of the world were regularly guided by even vaguely pro-social ends rather than by the deep psychosexual impulses of whichever mafiosos and imperialists control states and capital

If there were anything like sanity here, a great way to resolve this war would be for the United States to offer its expertise and ability to help Iran dig out from this situation. But we're gutting our own environmental engineering capabilities and I doubt that Iran would accept the deal anyway.

You can break away from your parents and define yourself, which is really what this is about, without turning into a complete ass. But there's so many people and organizations who want to take advantage of young people maturing.

For me, I think what distinguishes this time is the way so many are faking it. So many so-called manly men who are actually vain cowards acting tough. Women playing the traditional feminine role who are discovering that they don't really want it.

In a time of poison illusion, hold fast to reality.

Donald Trump, the Most Unmanly President Why don’t the president’s supporters hold him to their own standard of masculinity?

Since we're discussing masculinity again, this article is relevant.

Tom Nichols, of all people, actually wrote about this. These men perform traditional masculinity, but they do not actually act traditionally masculine.

It seems to be a time when performance has overtaken reality.

This Administration is performers pretending to be leaders and rulers.

War Is Pushing Iran’s Water Supply to the Brink of Collapse Climate-fueled drought and mismanagement have left the country with a severe water shortage, and war only adds to the strain.

War creates many urgent crises at once. In Iran, there is one crisis that's more urgent than any others: water.

It's easy to imagine that there's some sort of good side to the Iranian government, since Iran is being subjected to unjust attacks, but there just isn't; they're horrible.

I keep seeing people ask about the 25th Amendment.

Guys. His entire Cabinet is walking around in shoes that don’t fit because they’re scared to take them off.

The 25th is never happening.

The smug moral superiority of the far left is off-putting, to say the least. And it rests on sand; the far left has plenty to be ashamed of.

You're looking in the wrong place; almost all the people who know tech were fired by the NYT and the various other media outlets. All they have left are credulous fools and contrarians.

As to the actual merits of this technology, less than advertised, more than zero, and maybe not worth the price.

Remember when the press excoriated Biden for inflation every fucking month for 4 years? But now? "As Expected."

Fucking media, man.

The Arab Gulf states that are regretting Trump's war worked to put him into power. They knew what a complete tosser he was, but they figured they could control him, and they didn't care. Now they blame everyone but themselves.
