Dan Tehan showing fake outrage about the fuel crisis. Which wasn't caused by labor, Chris Bowen or Anthony Albanese.
I'll criticise labor. As much as I do the lnp. But I won't be accepting Angus Taylor or Dan Tehan's hypocricy on low fuel shortages.
Considering. What happened 6 years ago.

First people arrested under new Queensland laws banning 'from the river to the sea' chant The Queensland government is under fire from activists who consider the hate speech laws to be "hallmarks of an authoritarian police state".

Well ... I'm not in QLD & I agree πŸ‘‡

"... activists say (that) those words & "globalise the intifada" are calls for Palestinian freedom & human rights, rather than violence or the destruction of Israel."

Israel must be held accountable for its war crimes. And that's NOT an antisemitic statement.

Medicare for All - "That's socialism!"

Social Security - "That's socialism!"

Debt free education - "That's socialism!"

Universal childcare - "That's socialism!"

$1 billion per day on a war in the Middle East that no one wants, while millions of people at home struggle.

"That's just how it is."

Let me interrupt your expertise with my confidence

From techbros to wars against a society that’s been in existence for 2000y & believes strongly in martyrdom, to illiterate kids in the US pulling useful grants β€˜cause of a word in the title, the overconfident are leading the world up the garden path, out of the garden and into to a sterile desert πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

It is remarkable what Anthropic is getting away with everywhere in the world. In these responses they say they'll match their US approach

So: disclose nothing on emissions and energy, and beg the government to build new fossil gas infrastructure?

TY @davidpocock.bsky.social for challenging them

β€˜Worst thing I’ve ever seen’: CSIRO slashes climate modelling jobs Australia’s science agency is cutting more than 100 jobs in its Environment Research Unit, which critics say will crush our capacity to predict climate change.

CSIRO have now lost more jobs under the Albanese Governmet than under the Abbott Government.

We have to do better on research funding and backing our scientists.

Australia hands fossil fuel companies $31,000 a minute in subsidies β€” more than it spends on the Air Force New research has revealed that Australian governments are providing the equivalent of $31,020 a minute in fossil fuel subsidies as households continue to struggle with rising petrol and electricity pr...

Excellent work by @rodcampbell.bsky.social and @mattgrudnoff.bsky.social
'the overall cost of the subsidies is now growing at a faster rate than funding for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which increased by only 7.6 per cent over the same period.'

50 years ago, oil crisis led the world to rapid rollout of nuclear energy, and big investment into wind and solar energy viability.
Will be interesting to see if current oil issues lead to more rapid renewables rollout.
Unfortunately the issues may need to get β€œpainfulβ€œ to trigger that.

Possibly, the thinking would be that Ms Campbell thought the result
would find such favour with Minister Morrison as to lead to her
advancement. But quite apart from the speculation inherent in that
kind of reasoning, it is objectively a most unlikely proposition that an
already very senior, career public servant with a long and
unblemished record of achievement and recognition in both the APS
and ADF would so much desire further advancement as to
premeditatedly commit the serious criminal offence of deceiving ERC

NACC concludes that Kathryn Campbell didn't lie because she had no motive to

They say she had no motive because she was already successful, & wouldn't risk lying for further career advancement. I love it when people with no understanding of greed or hubris run corruption investigations

Heartening to see the Iranian women’s soccer team given humanitarian visas. Australia can be a refuge for those fleeing persecution.

Aussie women and kids should be brought home too β€” no matter who their father/spouse was. Kids and mums aren’t something to kick around like a political football.
