Today at COP30 in BelΓ©m, we inaugurated something powerful - and deeply overdue. If you are here in BelΓ©m, come check it out!

Survivors of melting glaciers, typhoons, floods, and rising sea levels came from Peru, the Philippines, Belgium and beyond to unveil our exhibition, "Unaccounted.”

But stopping Russian LNG is crucial for humanity’s future too. The Arctic is warming 4x faster than the global average, accelerating sea ice loss. Climatic impacts of LNG’s methane are similar to coal. And Russia’s refusal to join the High Seas Treaty would make oversight more difficult.

Russian gas exports allow it to butcher Ukrainians in the dark: A single Russian LNG project in the Arctic yields enough $$$ to buy nearly 10 million artillery shells. The threat of Ukraine's colonization extends to all of free Europe.

The climate bill is here. 🧾πŸ’₯ For too long, people like us have been footing the bill for climate chaos, while oil & gas corporations made trillions from making it worse.

Governments must ensure that polluters – not ordinary people – are the ones made to pay. Join us!

I’m looking forward to take part in #COP30 with Greenpeace.
We campaign for:
β€’ New taxes / levies on the fossil fuel industry. There’s genuine momentum to deliver critical climate finance by making polluters pay.
β€’ Ending forest destruction.
β€’ A Global Response Plan for the 1.5Β°C ambition gap.

European companies still generate billions for Russia by buying fossil gas, a new @greenpeace.be report shows.

Money that fuels the war on Ukraine. While Europe aids Ukraine, it also funds Putin’s war machine. Time to stop blood gas from Russia! #StopFossilGas

The giant bill that we marched with in NYC is now in an oil & gas conference in Cape Town and in front of TotalEnergies at Copenhagen.
Time to flip the script: it's not ordinary people who should pay for climate damages. It is time to punish the industries giving us heart & lung diseases and cancer.

They tell you that change is impossible, because they need you to stay quiet.

Today, 250,000 people have signed the Polluters Pay Pact.

250,000 people saying that Big Oil corporations - not ordinary people - must pay for the damage of global warming.

Now, former leaders from five continents have added their voices to this demand. From Colombia to Canada, Norway to South Korea, Mozambique to Sri Lanka, Mexico to Spain and beyond, former presidents and PMs are urging governments to hold fossil fuel corporations accountable for the climate crisis.

GOOD NEWS: Greenpeace International’s groundbreaking lawsuit against oil pipeline giant Energy Transfer is MOVING AHEAD.

Energy Transfer just FAILED in an attempt to block the case – which holds them to account under EU anti-intimidation laws.

It’s time to RESIST corporate bullies. Who's with us?

Tax the Texas oil and gas corporations and use the money for a flood warning system for communities living in a flood plain. Make them pay and save lives in the next storm.

The obvious next step: hold oil and gas corporations to account. 8 out of 10 people support making them pay. Rich countries should commit to higher taxes on fossil fuel profits and extraction by COP30, and ensure those being hit hardest by the climate crisis worldwide benefit most from the revenues.
