Nure-Onna, a Japanese Yokai (demon) with the head of a woman and the body of a snake. They haunt the shores and lakes for unsuspecting fishermen to devour. Painted this portrait last year while waiting for feedback on an assignment.

Thanks Nina!
Painting I made back in 2019, as a cover for Torg Eternity: Cyberpapacy.
Learned about perspective and how to place multiple characters in a scene. There are elements I would paint differently, still quite happy how it turned out with the limited experience I had back then.

Ahead of its time for sure! Loved everything about it
Nice! Paprika was great, PB is on the list, other ones I definitely will check out!
heard about it yes! Made me curious for sure!
Gave him a follow immediately!
And thanks btw!
Havent heard of all of those! Will take a look for sure.
Didnt see Monster! Will check it out. Pluto started out -amazingly- but ended too randomly for my taste, perhaps I missed something!
-Iβm looking for recommendations for what to watch next! Regarding anime I tend to prefer one-shot, niche films/series, but Iβm open-minded if something really stands out.
Thanks in advance!-
-The story itself is pretty straightforward, but the way itβs told and animated makes it such surreal and unique experience. The visual styles complement the story perfectly, and Itβs definitely something that deserves to be seen on the big screen.-
Iβve been getting more into anime and manga lately, and I watched Tekkonkinkreet (2006) last week. Honestly, itβs one of the best anime, if not one of the best animated films Iβve ever seen-
Painting from around 6 years ago, an Axumite (medieval Ethiopia) warrior. As always, I had great fun researching historical subject matters and try to find a unique design, a series I greatly enjoyed to paint.
Yep, the first reason felt promising , but the sense of direction, for me at least was lost in the second season. They set it up as a morally gray setting, but still wanted you to root for Rhaenyra, but at the same time wanted it to be morally gray so they made her team unlikeable too. Confusing!
Again agreed! Those subversions work the first few times but at some point it becomes stale. I feel House of the Dragon suffers a lot for those reason, where essentially every character is ''morally gray'' and subsequentally incredibly unlikeable. I hope they take notes from Knight and improve on S3
EXACTLY my thoughts!
-Highly recommended for both longtime fans of the IP and newcomers alike (prior knowledge of the IP helps a lot but not necessary to enjoy the show)!-
-The acting is outstanding, and the characters are portrayed with depth and authenticity, the majority of them instantly likeable and compelling. By the fifth episode, it truly felt like reliving the golden era of Game of Thrones, but elevated to new heights.-
Iβm genuinely impressed by the new Game of Thrones spinoff, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Having enjoyed the novellas greatly, I can confidently say this is a near-perfect adaptation. It stays faithful to the source material while expanding the story in all the right places -
amazing!
ETHEL THE CHICKEN!!!
a wonderful pathfinder character portrait commission that i recently had the immense pleasure of painting for @amorphoustyphon.bsky.social
posting a crop of the wider piece here but ill throw the full piece in all its glory below, alongside a tighter detail crop
:-D !!!
100%!
Nice!
A painting from five years ago: a D&D bard inspired by medieval Mongolia. A throat singer, playing the morin khuur, the horsehair fiddle. Around that time, I discovered a cool band called The Hu which was another significant influence for this piece!
me land my first freelance assignments and made it possible for me to start earning a living as an artist.
Itβs still one of my most popular paintings, and Iβm grateful for the opportunities it created and the role it played in my career. 2/2
This painting I made of an Ethiopian warrior queen, was created nearly ten years ago, at a time when most of my portfolio was still inconsistent and not as solid as I wanted it to be.
This piece however, stood out from my other work on a technical and design level, which helped 1/2
Another portrait I painted for the Numenera RPG in 2023. The Goal was to experiment with different lighting sources, (through hues and value intensity) to tell a story. Very grateful for the opportunity and artistic freedom to paint these characters!
