Poor Robin, what an awful journey this is. Sending supportive thoughts your way. He was the one who lied, he was the perpetrator, not you. Give yourself some grace.
I dedicated my toast with thin slices of melted dutch gouda to you
A similar image to the one Beth posted, but instead of one bolt hitting an apartment window, there are six lightning bolts hitting a body of water
I never saw yours! I have this one saved in my smartassery file, though.
Photo of Molybdenum. Your post reminded me of an old dream: I awoke pretty pleased with myself. Last night I was waiting in line for many hours in the Kafkaesque beaurocracy of the Ministry of Burlesque Names with an Unorthodox Request. I wanted to change my legal and proper burlesque name, Frisky Roundtree, (named by the state-approved formula of childhood pet, then the name of the street you grew up on) for something more clever, Molly B. Denim (the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.) The environment was cold, heartless, dark, grimy, and full of soul-sucked public servants who hated their work, like a ministry out of the movie Brazil. Every giant red stamp I had to procure or embossed watermarked paper I had to have signed, someone would peer at me dourly and mutter "Damned Unorthodox Requests." Depressing, but I still woke up really amused that somewhere in my past, (High school? College?) I deemed it necessary to remember that the element with the atomic number of 42 is Molybdenum.

Ellia holds her custom inlaid ukelele and plays the kazoo with the serious gravitas of a true maestra.
Charming Disaster have their own custom oracle deck, and take the audience on a cartomancy journey when they perform. Jeff shows us THE ARTICHOKE.
Jeff playing guitar and singing in golden red lighting
It was SUCH A TREAT to see Ellia Bisker and Jeff Morris, Brooklyn's own goth-folk duo Charming Disaster. Pacific Northwest, they're heading your way! Friends in Eugene, Portland, and Seattle, break out your top hats and fascinators!!
A shot of Victoria and the Vaudevillains singing "This is War Motherfucker"
Victoria resplendant in blue lighting singing the triumphal "Fuck Gravity, We Will Fly"
Group selfie, TA-Da
Frankie in bronze body makeup, an elaborate coiffure of curls, and a corset and bustled skirting is an utterly breathtaking human statue.
Victoria Victrola tears it up with a full compliment of Vaudevillains, including human statue, Frankie!
Budd Underwood and The Slow Poisoner of Kingdom of Not
Oh ehm jee, is it weird in here? It's not just me, right? It's weird in here. The butoh baby boy expressively gestures as a masked Budd Underwood earnestly shows us the giant doll locket.
The baby's face can puff and squinch like none other
Budd Underwood in eerie green lighting performs "I want you to die" a piece I found rather resonant in these modern times.
The surreal gentlemen scholars, Kingdom Of Not. Kinda beat-poetry surrealism plus a touch of butoh? Singing/spoken-word/odd-vocalizations and pop-culture invocations? Anyway, I LIKE 'em. I need to see them again, and to bring offerings of baby shoes.
EEEE! Me and Ellia of Charming Disaster! Ellia is in a peachy-pink dress and sports a darling black and floral fascinator. I am clearly fascinated.
Selfie with beloved and prolific friend Unwoman! Erica is gorgeously rocking double silk burgundy peonies, very Ozma, as only she can.
Me and longtime friend, the delightful and talented Victoria Victrola. Victoria, creator and MC of Club Guillotine, is wearing a guillotine pendant, heart shaped spectacles, and a charming little fascinator hat atop her deliciously pink hair.
Me sporting the new-to-me spider web skirt. I'm arrayed in proper gothish finery with a black feathered cordovan hat, a polkadot teapot shaped purse, black and silver rhinestone bracelets and necklaces, and my hair is unbraided and flowing like a waterfall.
Smashing night last night at the Ivy Room in Albany, CA. Here's my 'fit, and some selfies with treasured performer friends!
A young woman in a burgundy dress with a checked apron plays a huge alphorn on a grassy hillside. Higher hills and a snowcapped mountain can be seen behind her.
This is how I access Bluesky
He is right. A good butterfly photo-op requires ACTION
Oh ehm jee, that's awesome! See you tonight, beloved friends!
Tonight! Charming Disaster playing with Vagabondage, Kingdom of Not, and Victoria and the Vaudevillains at the Ivy Room, 860 San Pablo Ave in albany, CA, doors 7:30, Show at 8
Feeling a bit wrung out, but I'm resting with intent. I hope to dress up and see my spooky and gifted musician friends Elia and Jeff of Charming Disaster and Victoria Victrola tonight! You should go too if you're SF bay area local. Charming Disaster are New Yorkers, so this is quite a treat!

An echoing growl of recognition.
Patriulky
Yeah. Sigh.
Even sudden fiction?
This swell black rockabilly cut skirt's goofy cartoony spiders and their web are all beautifully machine-embroidered on, not screen-printed or heat transfer! The skirt was a good four inches too big for me, but I'm getting pretty good at taking inches in at waistbands with darts. I even used little stitches and folded and sewed the darts in flat so it doesn't pucker! Tomorrow evening I'm going to see my friends The goth duo Charming Disaster playing at the Ivy Room in Albany, and this skirt will be most appropriate and suitable for their vibe. I am delighted, utterly.
Closeup photo of a cute cartoon spider with bright green french-knot eyes embroidered in metallic thread on black cloth
Photo of me wearing a light silk jacket. It's silk, lined with a thinner, soft solid crimson silk, and the fabric's pattern is a complex floral and curlicue fantasia woven in crimson and gold brocade.
Close-up of the silk jacket's floral, curled ferns, and curlicues brocade pattern
Clothing swap scores! I did GREAT. I released five bags of clothes that do not fit me any more; I came back with only one bag; and I really like my new finds. I got to see a few dear friends and many lovely acquaintances, and we shared and donated instead of feeding the capitalist machine. Huzzah!

Ha!
And advice from my brilliant departed mom, whose loss left a huge crater in my heart when she died in 2010, "grief is a tunnel, not a pit. Keep going forward, even though it's dark, even though you're sad. It'll take a while, but you can get out. You will walk in the sun again. Keep going."
