A thousand times yes- it always puzzles me when it is said to teach specific things for the future when we donβt know what the future holds. Seeing maths as a means to develop logic and problem solving makes much more sense to meβ¦

@musingsofadr.bsky.social talk on trauma-informed practice and how trauma is really difficult to diagnose by expert psychologists etc so, as educators, we need to avoid putting ourselves in positions as βamateur psychologistsβ and making assumptions on that and other MH conditions.
Apart from not touching the surface of what was being imparted (the scale of the conference was mind boggling!), @profbeckyallen.bsky.socialβs concept of βartisanβ teachers being those who often plan from scratch and how generative AI may eventually and already is making the process more efficient
Iβd never been to an education conference before July- now Iβve been to 3 in 3 months! Only problem is, staff at my school now think βconferenceβ is a euphemism for somethingβ¦ this weekendβs #rED24 takes some beating
