We are saddened to share the passing of USCG Petty Officer 2nd Class Tyler Jaggers of Air Station Astoria who lost his life following injuries sustained during the rescue of a distressed mariner from a vessel offshore of OR on Feb. 27. Our thoughts are with his family & his fellow crew members.
These buoys provide critical temporary mooring services for vessels at the south end of Elliott Bay. Regular maintenance of these buoys is essential to maintaining their structural integrity and operational reliability.
Every 18 months or so, our hardworking mooring buoys need a little R&R. Big thanks to Snow and Company and Western Towboat for helping rotate them out this week!
