The fact that a second strike like that in an armed conflict is definitely a war crime should not completely negate the fact that *there is no war* and ALL the strikes are cold-blooded murder. The whole chain of command are murderers.

Global Scientists Anticipate Less Reliance on the US in Future Carbon Monitoring - Inside Climate News With Trump’s budget knife still poised over NOAA’s climate research operations, international researchers see a reduced role for the nation that pioneered CO2 measurement.

The U.S. has had a central role in ensuring the accuracy of the world’s long-term measurements of carbon in the atmosphere. Amid President Trump’s threats to climate research, global scientists are looking for alternatives.

My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to fleeβ€”his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.

Over a pint in Oxford, we may have stumbled upon the holy grail of agriculture | George Monbiot I knew that a revolution in our understanding of soil could change the world. Then came a eureka moment – and the birth of the Earth Rover Program, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

1. Some good news at last. This week’s column is about the amazing thing a couple of us stumbled into three years ago, which we’ve now developed into a global research programme. It doesn’t change everything, of course, but it could help change quite a lot. + 🧡 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

The fact that four hostile drones tried to hit Zelenskyy’s plane & it’s barely a blip in the news cycle should terrify everyone. We’ve been dragged so deep into the chaos era that an attempted strike on a world leader doesn’t even break through. When this becomes normal, the world is in real danger.

I used to have to teach the NSS: What's in it, what it means, how it was produced.
In this administration, documents mean nothing. Our national policy is whatever stray voltage is crossing Donald Trump's brain pan at any given moment. The NSS and other such documents are meaningless.

State Department to deny visas to fact checkers and others, citing 'censorship' The order is focused on applicants for H-1B visas, which are frequently used by tech companies and is part of a campaign by the Trump administration against online content moderation.

The Trump Administration and their Republican facilitators are deep into self-parody.

This is why they so dislike the comedians.

The comedians might say something as a joke, but then the Republicans want to implement it as policy.

Is anyone working on a constitutional amendment to remove the pardon power from US Presidents and to make it clear that a President is subject to criminal prosecution?

We now have an unprecedented level of income & wealth inequality.

It isn’t acceptable that the top 1% owns more wealth than the bottom 93%, while a majority of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.

We must stand together & create an economy that works for all, not just the few.

Falling fossil emissions have largely counterbalanced rising land use emissions over the past decade, leading to a plateau in global emissions. However, land use emissions remain quite uncertain, and gains made recently in reducing deforestation must be maintained.

If CO2 emissions go to zero in 2050 (top), the sinks (green) will bring atmospheric CO2 back down (middle), & temperature will stabalise at ~1.7Β°C (bottom).

Going to zero today will keep us <1.5Β°C

Constant emissions leads to 2.6Β°C, rising rapidly thereafter.

These six studies show a central estimate of warming from 2.4C to 2.9C, with large climate system uncertainties due to climate sensitivity and carbon cycle feedbacks; its possible that current policy warming could be as high as 4C if we roll 6s on the proverbial climate dice.
