Right, but if XB-1 is flying at around the same altitude (only about 6k feet higher than Concorde at Mach 1.1), but the Concorde didn't benefit from Mach Cutoff, and I can't find a good place where anyone explains why.

This is what confused me…from my research it looks like it flies at about the same height/speed as Concorde, which did boom?

Can someone explain to me this Boomless supersonic thing? It seems like XB1 has the same flight envelope as Concorde, hitting Mach 1.1 at around 35k feet...so why do XB1's shockwaves bend up so early? Is it the top mounted engine? Even pointier nose? Even delta-er wings? Please help me understand.
