Heading back to Deland to consolidate gains or do i have enough energy to retrieve the kayak?

Never ordering pork from Ikea ever again.

The takeover of Deland is going swimmingly. But I expect a heavy counter attack within days or so. I'll meet be able to truly hold it since some Enlightened live in the city. So i plan on taking a kayak route to avoid needing the city center for line of supply rule. #ingress

I have never seen cartilage before or how it handles compression. I felt like i found the gold of understanding. To be able to examine something that js also a critical yet unseeable component of my own body had me giddy.

Off topic but there's this myth that vikings named greenland & iceland respectively to trick other travelers. I like to think Chicken Island was named for the same reason, which begs the question, what is the name of the island that really has the chickens?

It's not traveling in the heat that is the issue. It's sleeping in it. I've tried it before on an island nearby called Chicken Island(actually devoid of poultry)and woke up dehydrated with a pounding headache.

I am practically immune to the discomfort of cold weather. My home is a freezer. I'm a Winter animal. But unfortunately the complete opposite is true for hot temperatures. I'm oversensitive to heat & don't know why. I even sweat just above room temperature.

Exploring the idea of having equipment that allows me to climb in, and sleep in trees to take advantage of cooler air. Yes you read that right. I am going to become a lemur.

I never got to do my multi day hike during the cooler months. Finding places to keep my car overnight plus my class schedule which is usually 7 days a week prevented it. So I either wait till next Winter or figure out how to beat the heat.

New game rule. I have to raid Ocala every 30 days as I gradually expand to it. For every mile closer my fields are, that number will be reduced by 1.5 days.

I abandoned my kayak at the purple marker. I plan on going back with a machete in a week or so. If anyone decides to steal it and manages to get through the 20 ft layer of gator infested lilly pads, you deserve the kayak. I won't even be mad.

As a side effect, New Smyrna now has a growing arms industry in bursters. And i made my first shipment to another city an hour ago. I'm doing it the American way, by funding proxy wars and insurgencies against the Enlightened faction.

My new way of playing Ingress(Rome mode) has me building up as many portals as i can handle in my city of New Smyrna, & feeding their energy with long hikes(conquest) to produce hypercubes. I have racked up New Smyrna's worth in resonators/mods to $140 in CMU value.

I'm still producing more XM then i spend, but damn do i burn through a lot of hypercubes in one day. The portals feed my cubes. They go in the kinetic capsules and i power them like a hamster on a wheel for hypercubes.

I currently manage 355 portals in Ingress and my fingers bleed when I have to recharge them every day.

My first long trek in hot conditions. I wasn't ready for it. Nature kicked my ass this day.

I crossed the river a km before the trail and walked through off trail marsh until i reached the hard land of hontoon island. I'm exhausted. 90% of my steps were in a gators nest. They were all out in the water but it was still unnerving

They took back the gator guarded fortress. But i'm not going back there anytime soon. I'm in the car with the kayak on my way to cross the same river in a new place.

I've finally created life. But it keeps dying. There will be a war crime tribunal before I get this working right...

I just learned you can download inaturalist's dataset. Importing to my app. Imagine walking into any park and immediately seeing the top 5 plants or animals around you by proximity on your phone....

Ended hike early and only did 30 km because i took a shortcut through Scottsmoor Flatwoods where I was forced to walk through mud that got my socks wet. But it's fine because i learned a lot about the area. Did not expect an alligator nest in that area.

Tie both layers of socks to backpack so the sweat dries out. Moisture causes friction. Put on second pair. Switch again after 10 km....
