Annie Abrams is doing some of the best commentary on ongoing efforts to make k-12 teaching increasingly rigid and unimaginative, with teachers themselves enjoined to be little more than automatons. Strong pressure to use teaching scripts — scripts that encourage children to memorize but not think.
I think this is a good thread. As a parent, it’s a practice to take your own ego out of the relationship with your teen and remember that teens do care a lot about what their family thinks (even if they don’t always act like it :)
Basically the entire theory of not acting like a liar, bully, monster etc, aside from one's moral committments is that over time, acting like that makes people not want to interact with you or do business with you, etc... Trump's entire life theory is: what if you can get away with it forever?

Katie Wilson is proposing a 7-year, $410 million library levy renewal. The previous 7 year levy approved in 2019 was $219 million.
Expanded hours, building infrastructure upgrades, and increased materials are being put front-and-center with the renewal.
