Sketching and working on art is a relaxing and calming experience for me, but this current art block has me so stressed out. It's an awful feeling. I just want to draw my characters without struggling or having the image come out off looking 😭

Pencil sketch of an Inkling who appears as a merfolk. The upper part of his body is that of an Inkling, while from the torso down, he has the tail and fins of a fish. The fish portions as well as fins, scales etc, are loosely inspired by the design of a Coelacanth.

Stealth as a Mersquid, for one of my AU's where Yellow-Green Team are merfolk. It's also his design for a reverse AU of my regular Mermaid AU. In this reverse MerAU, Bamboo is the Grizzco worker instead, and Stealth is the mer.

After having read this month's Coroika issue, it's inspired me with many ideas I'd like to sketch out...

I don't understand the hate towards casuals like??? I understand that some players don't necessarily want to improve, they want to relax with friends, or like playing certain weapons. And that's ok! Why do we have to police what people can and can't play and how they play the game differently?

Used to be a competitive player. I was mostly active during Splat 2 comp's heyday and the scene is totally not what it use to be sadly. I ended up stepping away due to how the comp scene become generally unwelcoming and very unfriendly. Especially towards players with disabilities.

Arkin Vulgaris. A male Octoling who shot up in the soldier ranks to Elite status (which is rare among males). Wielding dual Octoshots, he is a formidable foe on the battlefield. He is Wave's older brother and serves as the main antagonist to my storyline.

Having art block is no fun when you just have to let it run it's course. Though I do think this time it's a case of I sketched a lot last month to the point I ended up improving in many areas. Now areas I'm weak at or didn't improve much have to catch up to match the sudden jump in skills.

Thank you! Improving on clothing was a goal I had in 2025 since Splatoon is so focused on fashion. I'm glad these pieces in particular are able to showcase just that haha.

An art summary for the year of 2025 where each month is represented by a piece of art the artist created. The summary layout is divided into two horizontal columns with 6 boxes each. Each box represents a month. Top row contains January to June, the bottom row contains July to December. Three of the boxes contain full colored art pieces, 6 contain pencil sketches, and three contain plushies. All the art represented in the boxes is Splatoon related, either the artists own OCs or characters from the manga.

To end off 2025, the yearly art summary is here with a few of my favourite highlights for each month. Eagerly looking towards 2026 for further art improvement and adventures!

Blazer seems to be the type that will go the extra mile and dress up her S clip for the occasion. Bamboo carved the snowflake ornament herself to hang on her hat rather than a tree.

Simple pencil doodle of the Yellow Green team. Rider looks on with complete surprise as Bamboo kisses Stealth on the cheek, to which Stealth smiles and hold a thumbs up. A little heart appears between Stealth and Bamboo. Blazer smugly grins at Rider, an arrow pointing at her with the words 'Has known since day 1" written above her.

Sometimes I do silly doodles like this in the corners of my sketchbook to fill up space, or have characters commenting on a piece I'm currently sketching.

I want to keep pushing myself to improve my art in the upcoming year, and I would love to create another full illustration with the same amount of attention to detail and environment lighting as that Squidmas one.

The Squidmas themed Blazer pic is by far my most favorite piece I've done all year. Unfortunately did not get much time this year to do more full illustrations. Yet I think that piece shows off my improvement the best. I went above and beyond my skills to create something beautiful.

A full color illustration which depicts Blazer in a cozy cabin. She's sitting in front of a brick fireplace and looking out towards the viewer. She's wearing a winter wardrobe that is color themed around her gear; A long sleeved cream colored sweater, a green plaid skirt with a white fuzzy trim, dark leggings and a pair of white kneesocks. Wrapped around her tentacles are strings of silver and gold bells of varying sizes. The 'S' clip upon her head has also been decorated up, sporting a red nose and a pair of reindeer antlers. A roaring fire is in the fireplace just behind Blazer. Attached to the fireplace mantle are three stockings, each with a name in Inklish and an applique weapon representing the owner. In order the stockings have: A .52 Gal Deco, a Heavy Splatling, and the last has two Dynamos- a gold and black-crossed over each other like a coat of arms emblem. The cabin background is mostly dark while the fireplace illuminates nearer objects in a yellowish orange light.

Started in November, this was intended to be completed around December to fit with the holiday theme. However, it's taken me roughly 3 months to finish only because I underestimated how long the background would take to render. Based on a fanfic I wrote.

One hand it sucks as I have nothing to review back on my game play for this season to improve but on the other hand I'm thankful it was just the replays and not something more important. Would have been extremely upset if my 4 years of grind had been wiped out in seconds.

I nearly had a moment of sheer panic and thought all my Splat 3 data had been corrupted and lost forever. I was uploading a match replay when it bugged out and corrupted. Luckily I was able to restore and rescue all my data, progress, etc, however all my replays for the season are gone for good :c
