Just went swimming for the first time in a few years. As people effortlessly glided up and down the pool I seemed to be putting in a lot of effort for not much reward…hopefully I will improve

Buffalo Tom’s debut may be rougher hewn than most of their subsequent albums but for me it has a scruffy, basic charm all of its own.
Stand out tracks: Sunflower Suit, The Bus
Valiant effort by England, they got a lot closer than I expected thanks to a brilliant innings from Bethel. A dropped catch was the difference in the end but congrats to India 🏏

It really is but I’m not even sure whether it’ll make my five yet. So many great debuts in these years. Three spots are definitely taken so this might be one of the other two.
Very easily done. I saw them at Reading the same year. They were second on the bill between House of Love and New Order, was a fabulous line up.

Yep, might just scrape through. Oddly I’ve never really been a huge fan but know I’m in the minority!
These three are certainties for my #5DebutAlbums8589, all pretty seismic for me. Ranking them will be a nightmare and there’s a lot of competition for the two other spots.

Outside my usual wheelhouse but I love this album. Reminds me of school and my childhood home (Sade grew up about 5 miles up the road from me) and her voice is just so smooth 🖤

England thru to semi finals without playing that well so far. Bowling OK, batting v. patchy. Buttler is our best ever white-ball batsmen but he’s horribly out of form. I’d go with Salt & Jacks to open, Brook at 3, Butler at 6
