I have read Gene Wolfe, though not enough yet. Haven't read the others. Always too much to read and all that, the piles keep piling up.
Babylon 5 is perhaps the most politically sophisticated science fiction series ever made (light years beyond Gene Roddenberry) and much of it speaks directly to the era we live in. I don’t know how @straczynski.bsky.social managed to be this prescient 30 years ago.
I wrote half my master's thesis about W.G. Sebald (and the other half about Jaan Kross, an estonian historical fiction classic), so that's just a whole separate world from the previous researcher life.
There's a whole lot more, like specific things by Wolfgang Hildesheimer, Peter Weiss. Strugatsky brothers sci-fi is some great young-me reading. There's a whole separate list for philosophy and theory etc, e.g. Paul de Man, G. Genette, that sort of stuff, but that'll grow out of hand quick enough.
