Drop me in the pack if you haven't already... Thanks!
Here's a bit of 12th Street Rag to play us all into the weekend...

Turns out you *can* grow eggplant in Montana in January. It's indoors of course, on our hydroponic garden wall. #indoorfarming #hydroponics #solarpunk
Oh that's amazing! What have your temps been?
We got hit with frost a few weeks ago so the outside garden is done. We start a bunch of kale, basil and bok choy and fire up the indoor system in the fall, this year our experiment is the Japanese eggplant you can see in the upper left.
Looks like salad's back on the menu! Had to do some tweaks to the drip emitters and pump last night, but our little hydroponic system is chugging along nicely today. #hydroponics #indoorgardening
You too... Cheers!
North of Missoula in St Ignatius... Grew up in Cascade. Our son lives in Helena!
Oh man those old Kamakas sound so good! I've played a couple of sopranos and they both were hard to put down
The old Martins are pretty expensive, but not really any more than a modern uke of comparable quality. The concert size ones are rare, so when this one became available I went for it. The price was lower because it needed some work... The tuners were unusable and other issues
The old Martins are really consistently amazing. I also have a soprano from the 50s that sounds great. This concert though... It's really something else
She belonged to a guy in Chicago who evidently bought the uke when it was new. After he died (a long time ago) it sat in a closet until his family put it up for sale! He obviously loved her and played regularly
First post here, just checking in from western Montana. The pic is of my old Martin concert uke, built sometime during WWII. She's a reminder to keep making art even when the world is in shambles... lots of music still to share
