That's why the idea of "'ai' fast casual development" is appealing to them, lots of people in AR/VR/Computer Vision spaces that want to do fast marketing for people, but don't really care about games, and don't think the games need to be good. (The 'ai' of it all is still very bad, to be clear)
My opinion on this is that they want to be out of games and into games-adjacent fields, like movies and computer vision, but they have investors who are obsessed with brand identity and so they can't commit to it (thus the buy/sell turnaround they did on Weta Digital).

AAA games asking players to fuck around with their BIOS in order to have anti-cheat working "correctly" has got to be one of the most insane things game devs have done recently.
