recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best. It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

piszę to jako osoba którą w kilku projektach hamuje fakt, że nie pasuje mi do nich kapitalizm albo w ogóle gospodarka pieniężna, ale mam za mało drygu by wymyślić dobrze działającą alternatywę na skalę krajową/światową, nie będę pisała thrillera gospodarczego.
Książka, którą obecnie nareszcie kończę (zastanawiam się jakim cudem jednak nie zrobiłam dnf) ma jeden dobry element: wątki i postaci, które chętnie bym przepisała tak, by były dla mnie ciekawsze, ale jednocześnie nie wiem, czy warto próbować to zrobić w tym samym kontekście thrillera gospodarczego

one time I tried to write on computer with the kid present ended up with him doing anything possible to smash buttons and touch screen. SO of course has no problem working in the same room with the kiddo. It's kinda exhausting, truly.
last couple of months shows that I am truly shit in time managment and it bothers me only because I end up with no time for personal work and wips b/c I have really hard time working on them while not alone in the room soooo it gives me like 10min a day that I end up using up on food prep or sth

to jest powieść której nie powinnam czytać w doskokach już od miesiąca (a jestem w 1/4), tylko połknąć całą podczas urlopu lub choroby*, inaczej mam czas się nad nią roztkliwiać

kiedy krytyka literacka wejdzie ci na tyle mocno że zamiast myśleć "nie lubię tej bohaterki" czujesz, że nie lubisz tego, jak autor ją pisze i jak wykorzystuje to narzędzie do pisania o swoich głównych bohaterach, bo przecież go ta bohaterka guzik obchodzi

mam wrażenie że opacznie odebrałam marketing tej książki. spodziewałam się że bohaterka pójdzie w tango, a ona... w sumie nie tyle idzie w tango, co w epizod psychotyczny. niekomfortowe, zakończenie dość zaskakujące nawet jak na 50-letnią książkę
z nieistniejącego cyklu myśli nieuczesane o 22: pograłabym sobie w simsy średniowiecze, poziom tego jak bardzo unhinged bywały w nich misje ("doktor miłość", pamiętamy) to coś czego moje serduszko w tej chwili potrzebuje
