Highly recommend Pema Chödrön’s How We Live is How We Die, I’m currently reading Die Wise by Stephen Jenkinson. Also if you are interested in more active reads that include journaling, Living and Dying with Confidence by Anyen Rinpoche and Momento Mori by Joanna Ebenstein.

Depicted in a cool, grayish blue-green tone is a spherical stone, center frame, embedded in a creek. Fallen leaves, other stones, and shallow pools of water surround the rounded concretion. The center of the concretion is worn away, creating a small bowl in the center of the stone. A leaf lays in the center of the concretions bowl.
A concretion in Lewis Center, Ohio -photographed with a Hasselblad 500 CM. Classic cyanotype chemistry on Hahnemühle Platinum Rag paper, developed in a water bath with citric acid, toned with passionflower steeped in rainwater
Image was created with the support of the Greater Columbus Art Council.

A cyanotype on cotton paper, depicted in blue emulsion is an eroded concretion (ancient spherical rock), embedded in the floor of a creek. In the center of the concretion is another stone. Layers of shale and leaves surround the rounded rock form. The cyanotype image lays on a white table surface.
Another concretion from the Devonian period, in a creek runoff from the Olentangy River. Over 300 million years, an ancient old rock being. Can be found in earthen valleys of shale, a grounded remembering
