A new rule by the FDA would strip cigarettes of most of their nicotine. Without the chemical, “a cigarette is just smoldering leaves wrapped in some fancy paper,” writes Nicholas Florko:
HUGE news in tobacco control. I’m seeing a lot of comments saying this will lead to people smoking more cigs to attain the same nic hit, but that’s just not what the science tells us. Models show this rule could result in 12.9 million people quitting in just 1 year.
