I love the St Bridget's Bank Holiday because the weather is unpredictable and cold enough that there's no pressure to do anything unlike the summer bank holidays where everyone asks "did you get up to anything?".
Although it's occurring on my 'rest day' for work this year so I feel a bit cheated π€£
Hope all went well Ger!
I have to go for them a few times a year but luckily I don't mind the machines. I'm a weird one though and usually manage a nap in them depending on the length of the scan π€£
I'm hoping there is no snow when I get back home to Athy, it's been a fairly concerning drive home so far
π
Wishing you all the best for 2025 Ellen.
May it be gentle and prosperous
@gavreilly.com festive excel sheets
Staying here too but been crazy busy at work so haven't had much time to pop in lately
I thought that too. I also thought the Eye and Ear clinic was Eyeineer Clinic, you know a specialist, an engineer for eyes π€£
I can't get over the amount of people not washing their hands after using the toilet and not covering their mouths when they cough.
I get that from other people without MS who ask me if I'm "allowed do my job with that" π

Realised Imposter Syndrome goes as far as illness when I refrained from telling someone who has MS that I also have MS because I don't think I'm MS-sy enough! π€¦π»ββοΈπ€£
Social media should be safe for trans people

scrooged is on and itβs really making me appreciate how many powerful men could do with having the shit kicked out of them by carol kane in fairy wings tbh
A few days ago, Accessorize refused to pierce @lucywebster.bsky.socialβs ear unless she provided a GP note. Why? Because sheβs disabled.
And now sheβs in the Sunday Times calling it out because it turns out, disabled women are not 5 years old - they are leaders. www.thetimes.com/uk/society/a...
I'm so sorry to hear that Hannah πΎπΎ
Luckily for the lactose intolerant among us it's lactose free π€£
I mean, he mightn't need any help
For a second I thought you meant that her Daddy was Robbie Keane π€£
I hope she's having a ball β€οΈ
Hello BlueSky #SpΓ©irGorm friends. I'm slowly getting to grips on this. I've mixed feelings about #IDPWD2024. What I will say: a disabling society clowns us all, we don't exist to make non-disabled ppl feel better about their own lives, it gets exhausting explaining why you're worth being 1/6
Almost ten if you count the confidence and supply agreement
People going on about the falling turnout numbers not factoring that if you rent as many people under 45 do, you might have to move 4 or 5 times between elections. Doesn't bode well for voter registration. #GE24 #GenerationRent
Post from Elon Musk
Things we've learned from the election
1. The far right has been rejected (now let's stop giving them air time).
2. Posts and followers on social media don't reflect real life (they are mainly bots and/or not from Ireland)
3. The Irish pay no heed to Musk, and he doesn't have influence here!

Happy Thanksgiving Barb π¦π¦π¦
I completely get throwing yourself into the fight for people who share your own marginalization, but I want to stress that disabled people exist across every intersection. When you make stuff thatβs a direct threat to our lives about how it does or doesnβt affect you, youβre cutting people out.
