This month, I read ‘Heart the Lover’ by Lily King & it took me back to late nights writing creatively, finding my voice, & falling in love with storytelling.
It reminded me why a liberal arts education matters: it teaches us how to think deeply, feel fully & tell our stories.

As a Californian, it was an honor to witness.
Today marks one year since the devastating firestorms tore through SoCal.
We remember the lives lost, honor the communities forever changed, and stand with everyone rebuilding and healing. The Trump Administration needs to approve the federal disaster funding Californians need to fully recover.
The killing of an unarmed woman by ICE in Minneapolis is a horrific betrayal of American values.
The Trump administration has once again taken a life through unnecessary lethal force—and is already lying about what happened.
We need a full investigation. These attacks on our communities must stop.
President Trump is pursuing the discredited and rejected “might makes right” foreign policy approach of the 19th Century. This is taking our country and the values we have championed for over a century down a dark, disturbing and dangerous path.
2025 was a year of real progress: protecting rights, expanding opportunity & showing up for communities in every corner of CA. I’m deeply grateful to serve as LG and proud of what we’ve accomplished together.
