caught up on UK vs the World...it would've been iconic if the finale had zero UK queens in it. oh well!
Preparing ingredients for my contribution to the Oscar party π§ββοΈ
Leapt out of bed at 6:45 am and deep cleaned my kitchen and NO weβre not questioning this motivation letβs GO GO GO
my friend read part of the book and had the same issue, but he LOVED the movie
Doesn't 100% stick the landing, but the journey to get there is so powerfully well done. See it on the biggest fucking screen you can.
PROJECT HAIL MARY is transcendently good. Trusts its audience and teaches you how to watch it, setting up its own internal rules and scientific logic clearly and intelligently. Ryan Gosling...my man. Funny, heartbreaking, and totally at ease at the filmβs center. Gorgeous guy, gorgeous film.
That final needle dropβ¦Maggie you troll. Iβll catch you on the next one
βFrankensteinβs monster is so horny his stomach hurts so he makes an always-in-pajamas Annette Bening resurrect Harley Quinn whoβs kinda sometimes possessed by the real Mary Shelley oh and thereβs a musical numberβ should totally work for me and YET. THE BRIDE! is a fascinating mess but still a mess
Back-up dancing for some drag queens! π
And it all (mostly) felt organic? Just a bunch of fabulous talented queers in their element
Last nightβs episode of Drag Race wasβ¦perfect? A fun and genuinely hilarious Werk Room, individual challenge performances set up and executed thrillingly, great runway looks, a dramatic story turn (especially after the earlier show of camaraderie amongst the girls), and a fun lip sync.
Lacks any semblance of the inventiveness and intelligence that once defined the series and made it stand out in the first place. Badly acted (Neve does what she can), terribly paced, and filled with uninspired, dumb murder sequences (wtf was the point of the opener) (and no, I didn't pay to see it)
It doesn't help that the third act method used to craft most of these references and callbacks is unforgivably hack and poorly executed. If the series started as a fresh, Gen X-minded change of pace for the horror genre, this is a once cool kid trying desperately to hold onto faded glory.
SCREAM 7...look how they massacred my boy. The kind of movie that I'm calling a "pointer" - more interested in creating moments to make fans point at the screen in recognition rather than being compelling or logical. Feels like the kind of tired, dumb slasher the original was made in reaction to.
The final few minutes of Stella Dallasβ¦the best acting EVER?
Be a little nicer to regular people. Gotcha-ism isnβt activism. The world is crumbling and no one is doing shit. We all keep hoping, but I just know someone out there must still really want to impress Jodie Foster. My heart tells me it is so.
one day, he'll be dead

these Scream 7 reactions make the boycott even easier π
if Benicio wins SAG, I'll probably predict him to win Oscar #2
The ONLY thing holding me back from feeling fully confident about Sean Penn (aka a boring win) is the fact that he already has 2 and heβs got A Reputationβ’οΈβ¦but do voters care???
Hereβs where Iβm at as of nowβ¦if you see me changing them again before SAG, slap my hand
Iβve changed my Supporting Actor and Actress predictions SO many times this week, Iβm dizzy
NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW THE MOVIE is a miracle of a film. Comedic genius in every set piece, continually exciting and unbelievable. I knew nothing about the TV show going in and had the best time. Bring friends and see it with a crowd!

Last days of this mustache (if we can even call it that)
WUTHERING HEIGHTS boils the book down to an underdeveloped romance between a mean lady in hideous dresses & a horrible handsome guy who can't stop doing ASMR. Alison Oliver is the only actor making exciting choices. Costumes are distracting vulgarities. Stunning cinematography. Fennellβs best yet!
