My criteria of success for a large business is "how many people do you employ and what is the average salary of workers?" not "how much profit goes to shareholders" and I know that's incompatible with modern economics but it's still right to me
As far as I'm concerned, every time a company that is already profitable does layoffs, they should be written about in terms of that representing major failure.
"We laid off 10% and made $ XX.XX!"
should be responded to:
"Oh, what's wrong? Company X is failing? Company X is in deep trouble?"
I've been known to get down with the sickness, and I'm not just talking about that time I was out of school for a week with shingles
"Fans of Disneyβs 1970s animated feature Robin Hood arenβt likely to be feeling particularly merry after the latest update about a potential live-action remake."
Who would want one of those "live action" cgi schlock things? If you want something cool, do a 4k restoration of the original, you hacks.
I was looking at the list and it started out pretty dire, but then out popped Raiders of the Lost Ark and made it pretty easy

I was also considering mentioning the basic bic white barrel pens for the same reason. A case of 100 for like 5 bucks
Always #5, though black ink is better. A zebra f301 retractable is also good.
Billy Corgan and his band always sucked. I was there.

A miniature modelling station filled with a scene made from masonite flat board and layers of cork built up to suggest a rock wall
This pile of cork, masonite, and wood glue will eventually become terrain for my fallout diorama. Posting so I can look back a few weeks and hopefully be happy with the progress
this cures what ails me every time
I know there are bigger and worse things going on, but youtube has just started putting out of order videos on the top of the subscriptions page and it's so clear they really don't want you to have a logical, chronological view to be anywhere near the default.
Miniatures (unpainted white resin)from the fallout universe are arranged on a masonite board with cardboard boxes standing in for terrain of canyon walls to get a rough idea of a good layout for the scene. An NCR patrol of seven people is split high and low in a box canyon. The lower group confronts a deathclaw guarding a nest who has destroyed two eyebolts. The upper group has been taken by surprise by another deathclaw coming from the back right.
A little bit of blocking for my fallout diorama. This NCR patrol didn't expect the second deathclaw. Imagine it as taking place in a box canyon
A complimentary profile of Jason Lee that was surprisingly difficult to publish: defector.com/a-compliment...
The trove of files released by the Department of Justice, illuminates Epsteinβs deep interest and entrenchment in the scientific community.
But the files also underscore how he used his power and money in ways that kept women out of places where they might succeed. https://bit.ly/4qWgPLz
This suddenly jostled loose a memory of an old kid's book I grew up with that showed people to scale with various large animals and it turns out you can just get the pdf from the author www.davidpetersstudio.com/books.htm

Troy McClure counts as a celebrity right?
Yes, one of the things I'm tempted to post more about is just how real each character is and how they interact in interesting but understandable ways.
Maybe I should...post about... anime more?
BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.
This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.
Shout outs to the most difficult maze in the history of video games
I saw the movie in my early teens I think, and definitely did not get that part of things at the time. Though they really pushed it down compared to the book, I am told.
Also I'm a sucker for the magical realism type of daydreaming that Asa does all the time.
