This is a photo I took in 2009 on Campbell Island. A friend and I were just chilling on the side of the hill and this curious albatross came to visit us. She was one of the reasons why I decided to work in education instead of research.

🦜 Carlos is a yellow- crowned parrot that arrived in Merazonia, a wildlife rehabilitation centre in Ecuador, in 2018. Due to reduced mobility, a new life at the centre was the best option for him and he has since become one of the most beloved residents. He also inspired by new story OUT NOW! 🥳🍾

Carlos has been a superstar and Mr Optimistic (usually) for years @Merazonia Wildlife Refuge ever since he was found incredibly skinny and with a broken pelvis. Now he sings to every passerbyer at the refuge and gets around using his beak.
Carlos the yellow-crowned parrot is finally going to be the main character in his very book. Thanks to Nayomi @fujocraft_._ , the illustrator of my new book- more details to come soon!
