working on a new concept record where the concept is that every song freaking rules
yeah, probably just a coincidence
I was in there like 2 years back for some reason and decided to look around and it was truly depressing. I remember it being one of the best resources for art supplies and new literature from like 08-13
frog is a perfect band and in a decade people will be be referring to them as one of the most important bands for weirdos and the art farts
kwb+ pedal arriving at my house today. apologies to all my friends who make heavy music. i will have the tone now. I will have dirt you have only dreamed about. I will be nastier than science considers possible. I will be allowed to smoke cigarettes. I'm the captain now.
incredible new headshot dawg
solar punk
ummm okay wow accurate
(the news is I'm playing a show with my band for the first time in 3 years. please show up or I'll start a 70s Dylan-esque phase I'm not kidding I will fucking do it)
what up Cory Fay fans who hate me but love my band. big news for you
my mom told me I couldn't bake chicken and veggies at the same time and have it come out right but I did it tonight and it was perfect, I'm like Kendrick Lamar in that sense
there should be a magical cat that just lives in my studio and they should have a mysterious criminal past
when you're mixing music, you're allowed to just turn the drums up as loud as you want. it kicks so much ass
imagining I have wolverine claws but they come out of my ass. in this universe, I am the king of birthday party performers for specifically 10 year old boys. I am sponsored by Levi's, who love seeing me rip their jeans up. I own an ice cream maker
try to make it sound warm. you want a nice warm tone. the mix should be warm. the audio all needs warmth. if you do nothing else, make it warm at all costs. promise me. promise me you will do this. look at me goddamn it. promise me. I should be allowed to own rabid coyotes in the city
I have been working in audio for like 10 years now and the single most important thing I have learned, my absolute most critical advice I can ever share is this:
this is why I never get more than a few weeks into quitting. I dont know how to make friends with healthy people
I was lucky enough to end up spending 100 dollars on Spiderman comics this week. not any collectors or rare issues. Just 100 dollars of Spiderman comics I'd always wanted to read. on occasion, I realize that in many ways I have become the adult childhood me hoped I would become
they should invent a piano that has that sunburst finish that guitars have so you can feel cool when you play piano
I like to imagine both of them getting very exciting about hyper specific qualities of a random room somewhere in the Wilma theatre together
music is one of the most popular sounds out there. follow me for more music insight
this is the worst January/David loss since Bowie
I should be allowed to do the soundtrack for the next batman movie. i love nirvana too. i can do this
what up cory fay nation how do you most prefer to have diy music promoted to you
what up who here likes music
I've heard logic is pretty nice about that too. I don't have the widest experience with daws, but what experience I do have seems to support that as long as you're not using pro tools, it probably won't be a total headache lol
the caveat worth taking with me though is that I use reaper which is extremely flexible and intuitive about sample rates/bit depth and how it talks to your interface, and second, I enjoy the lower fi side of life in so far as my producer tastes go
I always default to 24/44.8 myself with the thought that in most situations, I can render down to 16 bit or 44.1 without issue. I have only ever noticed issues pop up around specific instances like time stretching a lot of stuff or mixing various sources at different sample rates.
