I used to knit them at the end but have recently changed to knitting them before working the body. It gives me a better idea of how the garment will look & how long I want the body to be. Plus it’s easier on the wrists since I don’t have to deal with the weight of the body while knitting the sleeves

I’m not used to the word limits on Bluesky yet 😂 the yarn is paintbox yarns in the summer vacation colorway. Not sure if they make this color anymore since it’s deep stash but they have lovely current colors. It’s a great sock yarn & good price point.

He doesn’t notice them at all when they are on his feet & so far no holes! For short row heels, I would suggest maybe knitting nylon thread along with the sock yarn for the heel. I used to knit a fish lips kiss heel for his socks but he always wore through the heels quickly.

doing the gusset decreases. Then when the gusset decreases are finished I knit the foot in plain stockinette until I get to the ball of the foot where I restart the slip stitch pattern on the foot but continue plain stockinette on the instep. He is very tough on his socks but these reinforced slip

I knit a slip stitch heel flap (on the right side: slip 1, knit 1 across / on the wrong side: purl all stitches) then I knit a french heel turn while keeping the slip stitch pattern as established from the heel flap. I also continue the slip stitch pattern for these stitches while
