Fabricated quotes fuel false claims about Hanson, Albanese Foreign-run Facebook pages are spreading disinformation about Australian politicians after being caught sharing fake quotes from the nation's swimming stars.

We've done a series of checks on the operation over the past few weeks. They pivoted to political disinfo in late November and have since racked up tens of thousands of shares.

A foreign run political disinfo operation is being shared widely in political discussion groups. The claims in the posts are absurd, but that hasn't stopped them from being believed.

The posts typically vindicate or boost pollies such as Hanson or Dutton at the expense of the Albanese government.
