Everyone knows data collection is aggressive and all-encompassing so it’s not big news that I ”happened to” get a Pokémon related ad, but I’m just curious about what exactly the spying mechanism was in this case. 🤔 (3/3)

Did my phone listen to our conversations? Did google sense the proximity of my phone and my nephews’ phones (they will certainly have been profiled as Pokémon fans) and figure my nephews will have enthused me about Pokémon? Did my phone keylog a Telegram convo where I told friends I played … 2/3

Lots of big chat & social media platforms becoming horrible + buying into very dubious ”age verification” the past few years.

Honestly, I want to see it as a hopeful thing that big platforms are destroying themselves. Maybe we go back to quaint little forums and a more decentralised internet vibe!

This copyright sheet wasn’t as serious looking as the one I got from Bayerische Landesbibliothek last time the library needed to get me an article copy from Germany. It had very official looking seals and stamps and more references to law paragraphs.

It’s a pretty funny false friend between swe-swedish and fin-swedish actually. “Semla” in fin-swedish only means a bread roll, while ”semla” in swe-swedish means what fin-swedish calls a fastlagsbulle.
