Happy birthday π
For me, the moment that Finrod and Beren are captured in the caves with the werewolves in the dark, and their friends get taken one by one, always gives me shivers
π #HappyHalloween! π
ββ The night was as blackβ¦ As the cauldron bubbled an eldritch voice shrieked: βWhen shall we three meet again?β
There was a pause.
Finally another voice said, in far more ordinary tones: βWell, I can do next Tuesday.β β WS, #TerryPratchett

Top 3 maybe? Or 5 π
I played it when it was released, (don't know how many years ago)
and made it as far as LΓ³rien. What I remember best is the Hobbiton and the Moria area, and the hours spent rockpicking and finding resources (and also running from enemies that were too strong for me:) What area do you like the most?

That is one of the many things I love about the books. For me it always feels good when the characters in a book are travelling somewhere, especially when the nature and scenery is so beautifully described.
huge dragon (only the head visible) resting in a body of water in a forest. Lots of vines and tree branches dangling down, a stream running over its head and a great white egret taking off from the water next to it.
a mermaid with a pink tail resting on a rock and leaning back on her hands as her tail comes out of the water. In the background is a lagoon and some cliffs and further back the hint of a waterfall
a precarious tall hill with a wizard's house sitting on top of it with a wisp of smoke coming out of the chimney. It is dusk and all the windows are yellow with the light from inside.
a large winged blue dragon prepares to land on a nest with two baby blue dragons waiting in the nest for their dinner.
It's my birthday!! I'm 49 - how did that happen? I would LOVE it if you could share or follow my art for my birthday, that would be a brilliant gift! Thank you everyone who follows and comments, it is such a great place here! 49 feels ace btw. #artshare #birthday #watercolour

Yes, it feels like that for me too. There is a strange feeling about it, I don't know if it is his writing style or the way the world functions but it is keeping me intrigued so far.
I would recommend the Tiffany Aching series by Sir Terry Pratchett. Although aimed at a younger audience it has great storytelling and depth. How it scores on the scale of witchiness I don't know, but it remains one of my favorites.
Book 1 of The Chronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazny
I just started reading The Chronicles of Amber series by Roger Zelazny. At the start of the books it took some getting used to, but I am enjoying it so far. Has anyone else read these books?

Good idea, and then finish it with a flaming arrow, just to be sure.

That would be a tough challenge if you have a whole bookstore to choose from. What book would you pick first?
Thank you for the inspirational text . It is good to be reminded sometimes that there is magic in the small things all around us. And behaving silly can be very refreshing :)

Yes, love the goats ππ
Good luck with that. For me it is also the most moving story that he wrote. And it starts right away with Lalaithπ’. A few days ago I read the last conversation between TΓΊrin and Sador, that is also very powerful and beautifully written.
Yes, that is great π. But it is not always as easy as it seems, at least for meπ¬
